  • Aliens at St Francis

    Tue 25 Feb 2014

St Francis School welcomed some unexpected visitors today.

We hope your child/ren share with the the excitement of discovering a spaceship (which landed over night in our staff car park!). Each class has adopted an alien, who has given them a ‘Learning Rucksack’ with learning tools to support their everyday thinking and approach to their work.

The whole school thoroughly enjoyed watching a special video made by the aliens which we have uploaded below.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhBZTE6UaoA

The Learning attributes: Perseverance, Exploration, Cooperation, Independence and Reflection will begin to be embedded into our curriculum during this term. We will share more information as the term progresses and have planned an information evening for parents at the beginning of the Summer Term – please look out for further details in the newsletter.

  • Building Begins at St Francis

    Mon 10 Feb 2014

During February you will notice St Francis receiving a number of exciting improvements.

Around the edge of the school you will see the construction of 3 conservatories. These are designed to add to classroom space to provide extra educational areas and to make our corridors much safer. All the staff and children are excited by this prospect.

The school is also having its windows upgraded to double glazing. Making rooms brighter and our school more eco friendly. In the picture below you will see that the hall has already been done.

We can’t wait for it all to be complete.
