Foodbank Fridays

As a school we feel it is important to show our support to all members of our community.   We have supported the B30 Foodbank fo a number of years through our harvest donations and also a collection point in the school entrance.  We know there are many families who need more support at the moment so we have launched Food bank Fridays as a way to actively support the important work of the B30 Foodbank.

Every Friday there will be collection tubs on the main driveway into school for families to contribute to if they feel able.   We were proud to be able to donate 138.4kg to the food bank following our launch at our Virtual Harvest Festival.

If you are able, and would like to make a donation please check the B30foodbank website to se what they are in most need of at the moment.  They are running in a restricted premises and don't have their previous storage capacity.

Thank you so much for your recent donation of 138.4 kg of food to the B30 Foodbank. In these trouble-stricken times, when normal shopping has been disrupted and money is in short supply for so many, we are doubly grateful for your generosity. Would you please pass on our thanks to all pupils involved in the collection. I am attaching a Certificate of Appreciation which you may be able to print out and  display somewhere in school so that the children will be able to see it.

Unfortunately, since 27th March, the B30 Foodbank has not been able to operate in its usual way, as face to face interactions with clients are no longer possible. We have, however, been working with Birmingham City Council and  The Active Well Being Society to put in place a system which enables us to deliver emergency food to those in crisis.

You can rest assured that, in partnership with these and other organisations, we will be able to continue to provide food to our clients, whether they are in self-isolation or not.

This of course means that we are still accepting donations. We are asking anyone wishing to make a donation over the coming weeks to please check our website www.b30.foodbank.org.uk for the most up to date advice on how to do so safely.

We would like to reiterate how important your donation will be in helping us to make a significant difference to individuals and  families who would otherwise go  hungry  and on their behalf we  thank you wholeheartedly once again for your support.
