In 2018, we invested in making an area specifically for Forest School and outdoor education. We spent time and money resourcing it to make it a fantastic learning space for our children. FRIENDS have, on two occasions, donated money towards further resourcing the area to ensure we can provide the most exciting opportunities for our children.
Each half term, a different year group gets to spend time in our designated Forest School area learning a wide range out outdoor, practical skills through different activities.
During Forest School sessions children will:
- Build shelters
- Explore fire safety through making one
- Complete sensory trails
- Tie knots
- Create natural art
- Explore the wildlife
- Create bird feeders
- Create planters
And much, much more!
These sessions are also a vital time when the children use their communication and team work skills. They are also extremely independent and are in control of their time.
