Harvest Royalty!
Mon 20 Oct 2014Mrs Hadley, Ella, Jeannie and Sam having a chat with HRH Duchess of Cornwall.
Year 5 were invited to Birmingham Cathedral to continue celebrating Harvest. The Love British Food’s Campaign challenged schools and youth groups to create a Harvest box celebrating local foods. Each year group had been busy during ‘Food Fortnight’ looking at local produce and making a variety of dishes: fruit faces, vegetable soup, Eton Mess, apple crumble……the list goes on! Photos of each activity were in our box ready to take to the Cathedral. We were the only school in Birmingham to attend the event, specifically chosen by the Diocese! There were a host of celebrities attending the event and of course HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.

Harvest
Thu 02 Oct 2014We celebrated Harvest on Wednesday with a fantastic service at St. Francis church!Thank you to every one who came to share our celebration. Year 4 children led us in thoughtful prayer whilst Y5 and Y1 decorated the church with their colourful food alphabet.
As you know, we are mid way through ‘Food Fortnight’ which has helped us to focus on the importance of food. The huge quantity of donations that came to church shows what a generous community we are part of. All food will be going to the B30 Food Bank.
