Travelling to School
St Francis CE Primary School is fortunate to be located in Bournville, with a network of paths and green spaces created by the Cadbury family over one hundred years ago. There are many options for travelling to school by sustainable modes of transport and these are being actively promoted as part of the work on Eco-School awards, Bike It and the School Travel Plan.
St Francis is one of the pilot schools in Birmingham's Car Free Streets initiative. There are traffic orders in place on Teazel Avenue and Berberry Close between 8.30 and 9.00am and 3.00 and 4pm where vehicles cannot travel without a permit or Blue Badge. Whether you live a few metres from the school, or a few miles away, please consider alternative means of travelling to school whenever possible, and if you are coming by car, please ‘park-and-stride’. The car park at Rowheath is open every morning and evening to enable easy parking for dropping off and collecting from school. Please avoid parking in neighbouring roads which can become very congested.
