We are currently applying to become a UNICEF rights respecting school. In order to do this it is important that we let our wider school community know about this. Below is our commitment statement.
UNICEF Rights Respecting School Commitment
Our school is committed to becoming a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, embedding the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into all aspects of school life. This ensures that children’s rights are actively promoted, respected, and upheld across our curriculum, policies, and daily interactions. By achieving Rights Respecting School status, we aim to foster a culture of equality, inclusion, and mutual respect, where every child feels valued and empowered to have their voice heard.
Through this initiative, pupils develop a deeper understanding of their own rights and the rights of others, helping to nurture responsible, empathetic, and globally aware citizens. Our school community will work together to uphold these principles, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all.
